This workbook provides students with the opportunity to explore the genre of picture books for both adults and children. Students learn about the definitions, features, styles, genres and types of picture books. Students develop an understanding of and skills in creating the various written and visual elements of picture books, including the front and back cover and narrative elements such as characters and settings. They read, listen to, view and speak about various picture books from different times and places. Students apply their knowledge and skills about these written and visual elements by creating their own picture book for either a child or adult audience.
